F Type Disappointment

this is strange, as its the total opposite of all the reviews I've read, who all rave about the interior, and tbh, all the shots I've seen and the one i saw at the chicago auto show made me think, wow, thats a lovely interior.

I love everything about it tbh, except the price, considering its a similar car to my SLK 55 in spec and performance, yet its £25k more expensive!

All Jag coupes from XJ-S on have had bland interiors.XJ-S is so naff it's good.
No matter how sporting they claim they are always more GT

The interior of a later XJ-S is anything but bland and is even less so when compared to a 1980's Mercedes SL or BMW 6-Series.

The boot is 200 litres.

Bigger than I realised. My previous comments were based on the report I'd read in Autocar a few weeks ago, where the photos they showed were of a boot that was virtually full of spare wheel, with just about room for a squashy wash bag either side. Do without the spare wheel and carrying a couple of weekend bags becomes viable.

Anyone else think it looks a bit like a catfish from the front..?

That looks like an early '80s interior.

Later '80s have a much better steering wheel.

My '88 had a MoMo stearing wheel which was smaller and even nicer. It was also a manual, which looks way better than that auto selector plinthe!

It's an '85 interior - the cabin was improved with the arrival of the HE models in 1981.

OK, early to mid '80s.

Mine was an '88 3.6 manual. I think they made some changes between '85 and '87, going to the Bosch K fuel injection for the AJ6 engine, and some bits and pieces inside.
