Familiar E55 W211 Moved to New Home Further North

Washed, vacuumed and polished, waxed the bonnet and front wings.
I left the wax on too long, got on a phone call then got called for dinner and forgot all about it and ended up watching the chase.
it's a pig to come off when left on too long so I wont do that again.

Which wax did you use Pat?

Post the pics of the car in full please Pat now that it's clean. Mine's been locked up for a year and I need some inspiration!

EDIT. Just saw it posted a couple of pages back... Nice.

Will do when I finish it, got a bit more to do yet and got sidelined with some work today.

Quite proud of myself, managed out to do the back end of the car today which for me on a Monday after my new Sunday club beer session is a bit of a miracle.

Done the rear wings and boot lid, just the bumpers to do next.

Anyone any pointers for polishing the exhaust tips, I want to polish the inside of these to get them shiny again ?

Finished the bumpers off today, washed, polished and waxed.

Had a look at the exhaust tips, couldn't find any polishing flaps to go on the drill or dremmel.
I had some 000 polishing wire wool in my toolbox so gave one a polish with this and some compound for a few minutes, comes up quite nice.

Will finish these off before moving onto the door checks, treat all the trim and rubber then onto engine bay.

Looking pretty good there Pat, The black stuff can be blooming hard work to get rid of. Nice bud :)

Anyone painted their surge tanks (pics) ?

Something i thought about but then decided to keep it looking Original.

Good point, I've been cleaning up the engine bay and was something I was thinking of doing.
They do look quite nice now though and lettering is shiny, well on one side anyway. ;)

Was also considering maybe changing the lenses on the headlights but not sure on this one either.
I wouldn't want to just buy cheap crap lenses and no idea on the ones that are being sold.
Might just give them another polish up and seal to see how they look, of course after I've finished everything else.

Yours is such a lovely car Pat truly great example just give them a good clean buddy they will come up great :)

Look quite nice, I've not managed out for a few days but had been polishing away.

I'll stick to cleaning and polishing for now and see how the engine bay looks when I'm done.

Got a plan just lots of other stuff getting in the way.

Why not take the engine out Pat lol ;) Joking btw haha

That's no joke, the plan was in the winter to get all the front suspension and stuff done and I have a new front subframe in the shed for it (well I did last time I looked) too.
Not got the workshop and ramp space for this work at the moment but we are on the lookout.

Blimey !!! Its going tobe factory fresh Pat :)
