hey guys i have a C180 Auto on a 1999 S plate. Ive had 2 Air Mass sensors fitted in the space of 2 months and now im getting a fault code 126 Sporadically altitude reading implasuble (pardon my spelling) that is in the Transmission side of the ECU. I have now also noticed that 3rd and 4th gear there is a flat spot of around 1 second then the vehicle picks back up.

I would be grateful if any one knows what the fault code means and what the rectification is thank you

well trouble code 126 related to the engine ECU... bad news im afraid... they can be repaired by the like of BBA Reman, ECU testing etc.

Thank you very much for your reply i take it the car will need another ecu could that be the cause of the Air mass sensor becoming faulty all the time

i wonder what caused this. hope you get the problem sorted what's the mileage of your car mate.

Thanks mate its got 79k on it ive had it 6 years and its had 5 air mass sensors on it in my ownership

Thanks ecossebev is it the engine or transmission ECU that needs repairing according to the 126 fault code

The problem is getting worse now. The car is starting to loose power and then picking back up more oftenly going around a left had turn

C18 ofl - did you get your problem sorted? Ive got same car and same error code and it looks like it starting loosing power same as yours? Cheers

hello there. No in the end i traded the car in because it needed a new ECU in it and it just wasnt worth doing. How about your self how is your car running is it ok. What conserns are you having mate?

Cheers for reply Iam just having this gearbox error coming back but the car itself is runing ok apart from loosing a power under load sometimes. It seems to be worst on cold engine, thinking it could be Lambda sensor on my due to milage and mpg Iam getting (got lambda sensor error on one scan). I'll try to replace that when it gets bit warmer out there, If it gets worst I may have to sell my as well :(
