Favourite Shampoo

1. Spray lower half, wheel arches etc with pump sprayer using Valet Pro Citrus Pre Wash. Leave for 5-10 minutes.

2. Clean wheels with shampoo and detailing brush (wheels have previously been sealed) while VP is at work.

3. PW VP Citrus off.

4. Snow Foam and leave to dwell for up to 15 minutes (depends on how hot, windy etc). Fill buckets and prepare shampoo mix while foam is doing its thing.

5. PW foam from car.

6. Shampoo car with noodle mitts using two bucket method each 30l bucket with a grit guard. 1 noodle mitt for top half, 1 for bottom half, 1 for face of wheels and 1 for under sills etc.

7. PW.

8. Dry using Microfibre clothes.

9. Clean glass.

10. Dress tyres and any other trim that needs attention.

This is just the way I do it and I'm not saying it's right or wrong or even perfect, just what I like to do. Try to do that every week or every other week.

Last pics show car with no wax or sealant. I would now at the very least use something like Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer to give a little bit of protection.

Given nicer weather I'm starting to wax the car and have about a dozen or so to use/try.

Used a product called Gyeon Wetcoat on my wife's Qashqai last week as the LSP. It's handy for when time is tight and seems to work really well.

Another Turtle wax car shampoo user here, its in the polishing and waxing afterwards that counts, surely? Snow foam and super expensive shampoo's don't make any sense to me, sorry guys.

Perpetration is everything so agree to an extent, no point waxing rubbish paint finish.

Whole point of pre wash and foam is to remove as much dirt from the paint before touching the paintwork with mitt or whatever.

The foam is less than £15, will give me just over 30 applications so say £0.45 per go and will reduce risk of scratches and swirls caused by cleaning.

If that saves me having to further correct the paint down the line then it's money I'll happily spend.

Tbh I would rather do a touchless wash every weekend using the k2 pw, defo start with the citrus pre wash then apply some shampoo (still trying to pick most recommended shampoo )! Then just another rinse to finish..

Not shampoo but snow foam*
