Is it possible to fit xenon headlamps from a 2001 w210 to a 1998. As far as i am aware it is not possible to fit 2001 headlamps to a prefacelift as they are different brackets etc is this true?

Also if they did fit would this be a direct plug and play job disconnect pre facelift lamps and fit and plug in facelift xenon lamps or would there need to be any additional work carried out for these to work?

Indeed washer jets and dynamic leveling system are complusory with Xenon headlights. And don't forget to tell your insurance...

For the W210, there are pre facelifted and post facelifted xenons available. The pre facelifted won't fit the post facelifted W210s, and vice versa.

If you can find the correct xenons for your W210, it is a direct fit. No need to change wires. No need to get the car reprogrammed through stardiagnose.

The auto level system doesn't work... but you can still aim the beam manually. Just as it's done with the halogen headlights.

Only compulsory for manufacturers! Please search the forums for more info :)

Thanks BigSis

You have anwsered my question basically i was unsure if the facelift lamps would phsically fit in to the pre face lift which you have confirmed wont. I will now have to search for some pre facelift xenon lamps ;)

Thanks to the rest for the helpful comments.

While shopping for Headlamps, also consider the new projector headlamps made by Depo in Taiwan. These are great quality and look awesome. Quite similar in design to the W211, these are excellent quality unlike cheap chinese or other Taiwanese makes except INPRO which is another brand by Depo. I used Super White bulbs in mine but you could also install HID systems since these are designed to be Plug N Play with the OEMs.
