For those interested in Engineering

Paint now dry...... :p

Actually, was kinda interesting.

Aaagh! Work! On a Sunday!!

That is a nice job though. But it'd really give you the hump when an M3 tap decides to snap right at the end of the cycle...

Cheers,

Gaz

What difference does it make ?

It's an interesting video ...... why didn't you post it here as well ? ;)

I Robot!

Makes a bit of a mockery of the AMG claim they handbuild their engines. Yeah right! with a little help from a CNC Robot.;) Fascinating in a mesmeric sort of way. thanks IBW.

Thats how nearly all our patterns are made now... Very interesting, I have done a 2 year CNC course ;)

So all you need is a CNC and a lump of ali, and we pay how much for these engines:D :D

Engine blocks have been cast since the first day of production in the steam era. The video shows a sample of how to make such an engine for ten times more money.

It is ok for drag racing or maybe F1. But overall it is BS for anything mass-produced so the answer is that AMG does not make its engine blocks in this way. If it did then the engines would be made at a rate of 1 per week not 1 per day.
