you don't even need a mill. Just a lump of wood to make a pattern and a big bag of sand - oh, don't forget a small furnace

Engine blocks have been cast since the first day of production in the steam era. The video shows a sample of how to make such an engine for ten times more money.

It is ok for drag racing or maybe F1. But overall it is BS for anything mass-produced so the answer is that AMG does not make its engine blocks in this way. If it did then the engines would be made at a rate of 1 per week not 1 per day.
