Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Well the MV time in second practice is not a genuine time when LH and VB went out to better that time we had yellow flags, but they were on course to beat it,but the 3rd practice looks like there will be rain, cannot understand why MB do not get out and post some times. with 36 mins left on the clock.

I think it's down to the tyre allocation. The soft tyres are only (normally) used for one lap and so they only have a couple of runs.

Another day where it can't be great to be a Ferrari fan.

I actually didn't think they would make it out of Q1, especially with Seb down in 20th during FP3.

The usual suspects up front today again, stonking lap from Lewis and a not so good lap from Bottas who almost lost out to Max. Ricciardo was the stand out for me after Lewis, a very hard earned P4

Would be great to see Ric battling with Max although I think Max has better race pace. Bottas has something to prove on race day but, will he be able to retain P2 or even go for the win? Unless LH slips up somewhere then no.

It's also pretty clear to see how Ferrari were last year to this year. I'd love to know what went on behind closed doors with the FIA. Every other time has improved while they've gone backwards at a rate of knots.

Roll on tomorrow :)

Bottas and Max have a great chance on lap 1 up the hill due to the slip stream. Lewis will have to defend with everything he has got (assuming he is in P1 after turn 1).

Seb must be almost grateful that Ferrari are letting him go! Next year's cars will be similar to this year and so if they don't improve and Seb gets his rumoured RP seat, he could beat them at most if not all races.

The rumour mill is working again.
Hulk to Haas alongside Perez?

I really don't see the appeal of hiring Seb over either Perez or Hulk at Racing Point. Stroll seat is a given, and Seb is not going to improve the team IMO. Add to that his wage, and what sponsorship will he bring to any team that takes him on.

My prediction is the Kimi will retire end of season, and a seat will become free there. But the Alfa is no better than Ferrari and uses its power plants and I can't see Seb wanting to trail around at the back of the field in a new team for long.

Anyone else think it's time the face masks were ditched for presenters and drivers out doors and more than 2 meters apart. Given these people have been tested to death, the risk must be minimal. If they do still think it's a risk then lets have the interviews 3 meters apart but for for god sake ditch the masks.

It's stupid IMO. They keep their distance and are in a bubble so you can't catch what isn't there. Also, there was an interview that Sky did with Chase Carey, it was mentioned that masks were not worn because they are social distancing (across a table). Ditch the masks and get on with it.

I thought the stewards were going to tighten up on exceeding track limits...🙁

I thought they already are quite strict, or do you mean keeping within the white lines?

I saw that earlier. I do think that Perez should remain in Rp, even though I do like Seb these days. Kimi will most likely retire as I can't figure out who is more depressed, him or Seb :D Haas do need a change though and Perez could be the guy to help them. If Seb does go to RP then Perez and Hulk (reunited) in Haas. K-Mag could then go into Alpha.

Still waiting for Lewis to sign though (and Toto). It seems like inevitable but then so did Danny Ric resigning for Red Bull.

This season will give some practice for it.

Another good result for LH. While it may be boring for a non Merc and LH fan we are witnessing history in the making  VB must still be wondering what he has to do to beat him but nonetheless a good result for VB.

Driver of the day for me. Danny Ric :thumb:

MV has really matured this year and his comment about the race today - it was really boring.

Gasly drove well today, ....as did Hamilton. That's the problem for Bottas. When Lewis drives like he did today, he's just too good.

Yeah. LH getting better race on race. Year on year. He’s made less mistakes as his career progressed. Compare that to Sebs (albeit in a much less competitive team) Mistakes at critical points in a race over the last few years.

I imagine Lewis can/could race well into his 40’s.

great job Danny Ric. Did I mention I’m looking forward to him being at McLaren???

Well I was surprised, but they showed the safety car driving round the track using all the areas that were legal and no car in the race went over what was shown as being able to be used:).

Well Ferrari are so bad it is crazy, and whats worse they do not seem to have anybody in the team who can put even some of the things wrong,I wondered if that accident had happened a few laps later if Red Bull would have put mediums on MV's car, that could have produced a different result,as it was LH won easily, and VB is doomed to be second in the coming races, the Mercedes car is just too good, but we are getting the Mclarens,Renault, and Racing Point making a race of it.
