Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Made the decision I will not be watching the race live on Sunday.
First time I can remember since I've had a family that I wont bother with a race. (

After looking at the comparative domination for the current Mercedes to that of the previous Red Bull, Ferrari etc. I've now decided it is just too much of domination.

Had wrote all sorts of stats etc.....................DELETED.....

Looking forward to seeing my mates on Sunday.

The same cannot be said for the F1 race.

You enjoy the pub with your mates. Leave us to enjoy the race. 🥳

Call me a cynic.

So you're implying that the Williams family should have got nothing from the sale of the company they worked so hard to keep afloat?

Or perhaps the only reason they sold the company was to fill their own back pockets?

Frank Williams - always the power behind the throne -Claire Williams ran the team for the love of the sport and perhaps out of a sense of duty to her dad. Everyone has to retire sometime and at 78 Frank's had a decent innings surely?

Absolutely, what they did with the team and achievements is rather impressive.
Time for some new folks and ideas/directions.

I've always said that where they are now would not have happened like this for any other team.
Frank holding onto Team Principal (TP) but not being at races is rather odd.
Then if Claire really was running things this needed a drastic change of direction, one of them should have moved sideways some time ago.

Will be interesting to see how they develop over the coming years, I think they will have to start looking more at outsourcing and bringing in expertise from other sources.
It's great to be able to do everything yourself but reality is many times it makes a lot of sense to get an expert (outsource) with track record in.

Could we really see Andy Cowell in as Team Principal? Don't think it would be that strange a move.

Frank had 52% and gained around £75m - and so he should. Not sure what Claire got.
In Claire's interview this weekend, she said she was asked my the new owners before and after the sale to stay on as Team Principal but she decided not to.

Well MB have dropped the baton again, cannot see why LH will go on racing with a 30 second penalty,it makes no sense,he will risk the car and himseld for what maybe 2 points best he goes round once and pits job over, let Bottas have a go for real.

I think the stewards have got it wrong here, there was no need to close the pit lane. A virtual safety car was sufficient to move the Haas a few metres back into the gap in the barriers. Why push it back towards the pit lane?

There will be another safety ar with these middle order cars racing for top position

OK, you outed me, going to watch the start (maybe) before I go to the pub (certainly). ;)

Did you enjoy the pub Pat? 😁

Great 2nd half of the race. In theory McLaren only lost 1 place with Norris dropping from 3rd to 4th. (Before-after the safety car).

Enjoyed that a lot. 👍

Hope McLaren can keep this up into next year when they get the Merc PU

Luck of the racing gods. MB made a mistake and the win is up for grabs for anyone.

Well done Gasly.

I think Pat missed the best race for years!!

I only just realised PG won that race without having a pit stop as he changed tyres (As everyone did) before the re-start. Strange rule really. I understand they should be able to chance tyres when the race is stopped but surely like for like compound wise as Norris just eluded to.

Ah! More rules, just what we need. More rules to clarify the rules on the rules.... :dk:
