Not sure what’s happened to Norris of late. CS seems to have got the better of him in qualifying the last few races. Maybe Carlos has just gained in confidence after signing for the Reds for next year?

With the tyres Lewis is starting on, all the incentive has been handed to Verchrashem and Bottas on the medium compound.
Lewis will do well to finish on the podium unless his strategist comes up with something. He needs a good start too or his job will be even more difficult.

Well the race is over at lap 35 Hamilton has settled for 3rd and so thats that.

Not a good weekend for LH and not helped by team strategy. Damage limitation from yesterday's Q2. Bottas was a bit weird at the end of the race/podium.

What was Sainz thinking of. Whoops!

Lewis did ask the team if it was ok to do as he did. They said yes. But I agree, he and the team should know the rules inside-out. Harsh penalty IMO but again Lewis shows his petulance when he doesn't win.

Saturdays Q2 was on the teams shoulders as they should have put him out there to do another lap, like he asked. Today he asked and they said it was ok too. 3rd was a good result for him. I agree with the bit above - he could show more delight in been 3rd as I know some of the other drivers would be over the moon with that result. The spoilt kid with the bottom lip hanging out is something he needs to get rid of when he doesn't win.

Unsure what to think of Albon recently. He looks a beaten man.

Saturdays Q2 was on the teams shoulders as they should have put him out there to do another lap, like he asked. Today he asked and they said it was ok too. 3rd was a good result for him. Exactly what I was thinking. I know it's hard when you're at the back being stuck in DRS trains but to finish so far back in a top 3 car isn't good.

Another driver I was thinking that never gets mentioned about (good or bad) is Kvyat. He had a bit more 'coverage' being the home boy but he doesn't seem to stand out, especially against his team mate.

Hamilton also had 2 penalty points added to his license, taking it to 10. 2 more before the end of the season and it's a race ban

Well as I said before this season the Mercedes team are making mistakes,of course LH is upset it was a easy race to win ,and between him and the team they conspired to come third,still what better way to equal MS record than in Germany.

However, never been RB’s style to seat an experienced driver, they tend to like young blood.

The Mercedes team seems to have suffered once more from Formula One steward hysteresis.

The regulation is quite clear about using the pit lane for practice starts. However if the intention is to prevent collisions then any misdemeanour should have been immediately penalized. Allowing a second transgression means the regulation had failed in its primary purpose . There should have been an immediate under investigation incident reported after the first transgression. Either Mercedes were chancing their arm -- not really their style -- or were acting in ignorance. First transgression was down to them second was down to steward tardiness. Five point penalty would have been fairer
