Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Unconfirmed yet, but plenty of places reporting the former Ferrari boss and current Lambo CEO will head F1 next year. Should be interesting having former Ferrari bosses heading F1 and the FIA

Just been confirmed, changes will take place January 1st 2021. Chase Carey will become non-executive chairman

Just watching P2. Am I the only one that thinks this track is pretty dull?

Just seen this on LinkedIn

McLaren Racing embraces the decision to appoint Stefano Domenicali to the position of President & CEO of Formula 1. We’re excited at the prospect of working with Stefano and his team in the new era of Formula 1.

Perez signs preliminary deal with Haas.

.

I don't think losing either or both Magnusson or Grosjean will be a huge loss to F1.
Better drivers (eg Hulk) have lost their seats before.

Well I am not a expert on F1 tracks but does this track measure up to the safety rules cannot see any tyre crash barriers, the track is poor, nothing to rave about, but LH has just blasted a lap which has left the rest scratching their collective heads,he is .776 ahead of Bottas, the other teams are struggling on this track.

I think the track must meet the safety levels required by the FIA or it would be dropped from the calendar.
It isn't particularly inspiring to watch racing at Sochi compared to the likes of Monza/Spa/Suzuka or Silverstone for example.

That was some rant by Grosjean in P3. The car might not be good, so far (it does look a bit of a dog) but coming out with that maybe he's looking forward to racing electric cars next season.

Drivers of cars 6, 8, 20 and 44 summoned to the stewards for alleged infringements at turn 2.

^^ Just seen that and the on board. Not sure why you should purposely go off the track if you are on the right of the sausage kerb. It was a Q1 incident so why didn't they delete the times? Silly IMO

No further action against all 4 drivers
Grid stands as follows

Russian GP Qualifying result
1. Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes
2. Max Verstappen, Red Bull
3. Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes
4. Sergio Perez, Racing Point
5. Daniel Ricciardo, Renault
6. Carlos Sainz, McLaren
7. Esteban Ocon, Renault
8. Lando Norris, McLaren
9. Pierre Gasly, AlphaTauri
10. Alex Albon, Red Bull

Well it looks like all the action on and off the track is happening in practice and qualifying,it has to be more exciting than the race, with LH over .5 faster than anybody else,I suppose MV might make a fight of it to the first corner,a good pole from LH some of the times posted by the lesser teams are very poor, this track has found them out.

I think Max and VB will get a good tow off the start into Turn 2 and may well take the lead. Lewis is on the wrong tyres, so will almost certainly have to stop first and go onto the hard compound for the remainder of the race. Unless, the pile up in Turn 2 causes a safety car or red flag. Could be an interesting dull race tomorrow (It's a dull circuit).

Hamilton definitely on the wrong tyres. In Q2 when his lap got deleted, he did ask to go again and the team said no. I did think at the time, why not get a banker lap in? He can always go again on a new set and improve. Mercedes were lucky not to get bitten in the ****!
