Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Well given the very few posts I suspect we have all come to the conclusion that this F1 race is a dog,I honestly do not think they should race, this morning it is raining and with full wet tyres on they are spinning off,I suggest that given when the track was dry it was slippery, now with rain on it the game is up,a shame F1 have tried to give decent racing but with all the tracks knocked out by the virus, this Istanbul track is a poor one from a racing point of view but with a new surface and rain,I just hope nobody is injured or worst.

I really hope they can do qually. Wet conditions always seem to produce an awesome mixed grid for the race. 🤞

Rain did ease of towards the end of FP3. Still looks like it will be a wet Qualifying. Having only 4x inters and 3 full wets for the weekend, should be interesting

Q looks more like F1 on ice. Fastest car so far today is the safety car.

Just seen that Max has injured himself, not sure if he'll be able to drive tomorrow. Apparently he tripped over his bottom lip in the paddock; something about the team deciding to bring him in to put intermediate tyres on instead of leaving him out on full wets.

Well not sure what to make of that qualifying, but no matter what the weather tomorrow we will find a fair number of cars out before we reach half way,I assume the rule will still stand that the tyres you use in qualifying must be used in the race,so assuming it is dry tomorrow all the cars will be in for tyre changes yet another minefield of penalties and minor accidents.

I'm not sure tomorrow is going to be anywhere near as wet as today

Only applies to dry tyres so if it is dry they can change tyres.

Quite a few drivers under investigation including Stroll who has been called to the stewards for not respecting yellows in Q3 (Perez incident).

I can just imagine Max! To be beaten to pole by that 'idiot' (his words, not mine)...Stroll on!....pole as it turns out:eek:
As my father would say in a Scottish accent "He's no s'green as he's cabbagey lookin"
Even it your dad owns the team, you have still got to have some talent to do what he did today.

No further action on Stroll.

Didn't LH get a penalty for something similar.

Lance Stroll has had his moments and some flickers of showing real speed.

But ..... he does seem quite mercurial on track over a season - his brain sometimes is in there and he has some real race speed - and on other occasions he looks very mediocre.

I've never thought of him as cliche style pay-driver. He's also still young. Only 22. But that said the situation at Racing Point - as they evolve into Aston Martin - will raise quite a few questions about the departure of Sergio Perez - if both he and Sebastian Vettel can't make decent progress next year.

I think Lance can be quick, but (similar to Grosjean) I’m not convinced his brain has enough bandwidth to cope with racing and being quick at the same time.

Both McLaren drivers have penalties tomorrow

Lando Norris (five places) and Carlos Sainz (three places) were both given grid drops for separate driving infringements during qualifying.

Funnily enough I was thinking of Grosjean when I made my comment - but didn't mention because LS has had a bit longer in F1 whereas RG sort of came and went in his first stint. I always have a feeling 'what might have been' with regard to RG's career.

Talking to somebody yesterday and he said that in a normal F1 race not like yesterday, the top 5 cars have to give the tyres they qualified on to Pirelli ,now he seemed certain and I did not know if he was right or not,but if so the top 5 cars run on fresh rubber at the start,or is this nonsense,I am aware there are lots of rules about tyre usage.
