They've recently introduced some kind of URL filter which blocks the MBClub website where I'm currently working. Anybody know of any sneaky tricks to get round this, especially as I'm now an MB owner......

Thanks in advance....

This happened to me and these two were suggested. One of them worked for me.

Do more work and your boss would not have to come up with these plans to stop you wasting your company money, I have in the past sacked someone for using the internet at work.

Did you also ban your employees from putting more coal on the fire and tell the carol singings outside to bugger off as well?

This is what’s wrong with this country.

zooman, what you doing on the forum... DO SOME WORK!! ;)

Exactly. One rule for one and one rule for another. It's like that at every company nowadays. THAT is what's wrong with this country ;)

What? The fact that I already spend two days a week working away from home (not in my contract by the way) or the fact that I already only get to see my baby for about 3 hrs Monday - Friday due to already doing 50+ hours a week at work (again not in my contract). Are you seriously suggesting that I spend more time away from my family? If you are you, sir, are a hypocrite!

Firstly I'd like to say it is absolutely no concern to me at all what happens at anyone else's place of work.

Secondly I did dismiss a young girl for abusing our computers at the end of the day she was spending more time online than she was working and I find this totally unacceptable behaviour from my staff. I'm definitely no tyrant but at the end of the day people go to work to work.

Thirdly I'm not a pretend boss and not a pretend manager I actually will openly tell anyone I have very little to do at work in fact most my role now is downgraded to nothing more than a supervisor I don't sit at work making graphs or playing with statistics I go into work every day to do a few jobs I have to, spend some time with customers and basically that's my job. I could do a lot more at work but I chose not to and instead employ people.

I once also had a job that kept me away from my family and I certainly know how it feels to be aware from ones family. Unfortunately again that's the price you pay for having a good job. I personally missed the birth of all but one of my children and my job didn't allow me to get to know my children until I retired from it. This is something I profusely regret and with hindsight I wouldn't of chosen the same paths in life careerwise.
