Free Car Valuation With Mileage Adjustment

Thanks ... useful (and depressing :( !!)

Just makes me wanna keep my car even more !! lol

The site also lists the Specs of cars when new. How many times do you see on this forum - " Was this optional extra or standard when new ?" Not sure how accurate it is though ;)

More depressing when your car is too old to be listed.

Can that be true?

I knew I got a bit of a bargain with mine back in March, but that site estimates about £3k more than I paid, with todays mileage...

Not complaining, I heard a rumour somewhere that W210 values were holding up especially well at the moment.

Ian,

I dunno but I was really confused by their following sum-up statement on their review of the W202...

Wisebuyer's Guides said:
Best Models: C240; C250 TD; Elegance or Sport specs

Linky

They make no mention of the C280 or the C230K

Ouch!

Well at least I have one of the more desirable models. Looks like they lifted the review straight from Parkers.

Prices have taken a tumble, so who said Mercedes have low depreciation?

I know somebody is going to reply that it is better than a Ford, but still a fair whack to lose. It will take me even longer now to get that A4!!!

Thanks :)

A nice surprise :)

Looks like we got out of our W210 at the right time as its dropped about 6k in 6 months

Mmm mine isn't, about £2,800 depreciation in one year seems pretty high to me for a Mercedes (my first admittedly)

My worst depreciation I thought was my Metro £10,000 new, sold after 2.5 years traded in for £3500 - lucky I only bought it for £8000 (cost price to dealer) anyhow still about £1800 depreciation a year.

My best was my Audi 90 only £545 depreciation a year

Well oddly there may be some reason for that... the 240 V6 is a lovely engine, especially as the later 2.6, whereas the 280 was a straight six dating some years back iirc and the 230K was deemed by much of the motoring press as being unrefined.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be overjoyed to own either of them!

For me, the 250TD is a fabulous engine and turned the normally aspirated 250D into a bit of a monster in its day. Brian's is obviously in a different league, but it's much newer!

I lost £7,500 over three years on my old C250 Diesel (non turbo) Elegance, but I bought that with low mileage at below it's retail value. Although my wallet was rather sore after that I'm waiting to see what happens with the current E220CDI as it was intentionally bought with a monster mileage on the clock, again well below book value due to the pile of jobs that needed doing. Unless I stack it, there's no obvious way it can depreciate by £7,500 in three years, as the first £20k of its tag had already gone before I got it at three years old... (THAT's depreciation for you!) ;)

It's nice to look down at the odometer and see that the car has only covered about 36k miles, but I find that with the E I can switch the display mode to mpg and not see the 163k on the clock...
