G Tech

1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 estate 0-60 = 7.3 standing 1/4 = 15.8, terminal speed 91 mph - so with 180k on the clock that'll be just about run in then :)

Not using the Gtech but checked earlier this year at a local track event

Thanks Andy. The real timed list is now

2005 C180k 0-60 8.2 1/4 mile 16.7 Terminal 70.6 -R2D2
160 RWHP = Est 205bhp
1998 E55 AMG 0-60 5.47 1/4 mile 14.5 Terminal 102.1 -Grav
360 RWHP = Est 462bhp
1995 E320 Est 0-60 7.3 1/4 mile 15.8 Terminal 91-AndyK

My 1/4 mile terminal speed seems low- I'll do it again when my G tech returns!

Andy do you happen to know either what your cars power it supposed to be or what it actually is because it must be pushing out 250ish?

no idea what it actually is because I've never had it on a rolling road but the book claims 220.

It's certainly lively though :)

Well, yesterday Grav took his car to the weigh bridge and to his horror discover that the 50 magnet in his boot had taken his car nearly beyound the maximum load for the car-

:D If Grav had turned over 25 of the magnets so that they were opposing each other, then perhaps that would have halved the weight?   :D

What an interesting thread that completely lost me at times with the maths?? The bottom line is surely this is a bit of fun that is also of interest?

Has anyone with a 320CDI joined in the fun?

John

But my magnets don't oppose;)

Hmmm, I'm intrigued.....I was taught (and checked with the F1 pater):

HP = Torque(ft/lb) * RPM / 5252

The unit gets RPM via the ciggie socket, where does it get the torque value from? Assume it's via the acceleration values, but linear vs angular......nah, waaaayyyy too late (or is it early) to dredge up the physics....

Just interested in how it works......have fun
