Hi,

Ive found the bumper I need for the w210 on ebay.de

The trouble is the shipping costs, has anyone bought a bumper and had it sent from Germany recently?

If so, which carrier was it?

Thanks

Its a facelift AMG rear bumper for an estate.

Ive had a quote but its 350 euro, when I bought one for the w124 I paid 90 euro's I just cant remember who the carrier was.

Hi aka$h

I'm thinking of getting bumpers from ebay.de too. Please let me know how you get on with the carriage.

Cheers.

word of advice on Shiply... i have negotiated on there, managed to get a good bid, ended up using some one else double the price as the site is full of scammers that ruin it for the genuine guys.

Read google about feedback on the user stuff and you will see so many cases of the fraud issues.

The user feedback is often arbitrage and also you have no protection, as you have to pay a little upfront i think and then if they dont show up, and if they have cleared or closed their account, you are left in a pile of poo!

Not saying its all bad, but i would not use this site until i have had a personal recommendation of some one on here and i know their address and location before hand.

as i say, some are genuine, but many people had been had!

Thanks for that Boss. I was thinking of using them. It seems that all is not as it may seem then?:(

its just from experience when i put a thread on here previously about a Sofa in Feb this year and i was recommended Shiply.

I placed a listing and its was abidding war amongst prviders.

Possibly the quote to choose is the one in the upper middle opposed to the cheapest, even if they have good feedback..

but ask others on here for their experience.. etc.. as im sure if the fools were not on there, it would be a great site..

other thought, search ebay for shipping deals.. they generally are good..

parcels 2 go are cool, have used them before from Spain and Oz.

I couldn't recommend Parcel2go - their standard compensation for loss or damage is only £50 and they don't appear to make it easy to pay for additional cover. They recently destroyed a model boat worth £300 by dropping it, by their own admission. Even though they'd put their own 'damaged' label on it, they'd only pay £50. Disgusted! Find another carrier!

Thanks for the tips guys, Ill look into the links today :thumb:

You need someone doing a factory collection I think:D

A few members on here are caravanners who tour abroad - worth asking if anyone's going near where your bumper is ?

Alternatively , someone going over in a car may be able to bring it back ?

BTW , my experience of eBay.de is that shipping from Germany to here is much cheaper than the other way round .

Ive had similar issues with them but continue to use them as they are quick and easy to use.
Also you can choose which courier you want and i always go for DHL, less issues normally.

Pay someone who is going for a drive around the Ring to bring it back? A £40 - £50 contribution towards petrol would do the trick I reckon.

Hi ,

Let me know where about in Germany is that bumper and when do you want it. I have one of my vans coming to UK this week. We can work something out.
