Getting a Bumper over from Germany

Hi aka$h

I'm thinking of getting bumpers from ebay.de too. Please let me know how you get on with the carriage.

Cheers.

Same answer for you as well. As now i have 10 vans, 3 of them come to UK every 2 weeks. I wouldn't mind some cash :D

Do any of your vans go up to the area around Halifax / Leeds / Huddersfield from the M4 corridor?

Whys that? You have a parcel as well ? :)

I need sizes/weight, return time, a full address in UK/Germany, contact mobile numbers. Apart from that i-d want a smile and a coffee :bannana:

It's a W124 interior - first two rows of seats & 4 door cards. Is that too big?

Door cards?

Thats ok.

Hi ,

Let me know where about in Germany is that bumper and when do you want it. I have one of my vans coming to UK this week. We can work something out.

The bumper is in Puchheim. Ive sent you a PM, thanks :thumb:

Wouldnt it be cheaper to drive over and get it?

That's what I would do. In fact that's what I did a couple of weeks to get some furniture that I couldn't get back any other way. The car was jammed to the roof (took back seat out completely), and with more on the roof! Simples!

Thats fine. Pm all details so can reply to you in time.

Sorting now Akash bumper. :)

I couldn't recommend Parcel2go - their standard compensation for loss or damage is only £50 and they don't appear to make it easy to pay for additional cover. They recently destroyed a model boat worth £300 by dropping it, by their own admission. Even though they'd put their own 'damaged' label on it, they'd only pay £50. Disgusted! Find another carrier!

Ive had similar issues with them but continue to use them as they are quick and easy to use.
Also you can choose which courier you want and i always go for DHL, less issues normally.

I used to use Parcel2go but as has been said it's difficult to get insurance sometimes, i know use Interparcel : Discount UK & International Parcel Delivery & Courier Services and have never had any problems and 90% of the time they are the cheapest.

If this was a European shipment, they could be breaking all the rules in the book!

I own a transport company and I know for a fact that when moving goods between any European country to another, one has to follow the rules and regulations of the CMR convention (Geneva, 19th May 1956 if anyone cares).

These rules apply to all companies moving goods between the countries, despite them saying something else.

Normal procedure is max £10/Kg, or less if goods less valuable. The delivery note (CMR note) has to be signed by both consignee and driver to say goods damaged on arrival. No good to stamp/sign "unchecked" as this means nothing.

If a domestic transport, other rules apply (BIFA).

You brought to life a thread from 2010. I don't think those deals are available any more.
