Glovebox stuck

Help needed. I went to open my glovebox in my '05 w209 today and it will not budge.

I remember putting a slighty thicker than normal pen into the holder inside it yesterday and there is a chance it has snagged it, but the glovebox is absolutely solid. I'm frightened of forcing it incase something breaks.

Any advice gratefully received.

It's usually the other way and the glove box won't shut-which required a new glovebox lid£££££
Never come across a 209 stuck shut.sorry?

I'm after a favour now.

Could someone take a photo off the catch inside their glovebox and post it.

I have managed to pull the glovebox open about 1" with a lot of force but it still won't open. If I pull any harder something will break.
It's almost as if it is locked but I don't think there is a lock on it.

Does anyone know if it can be opened from the bottom by removing the hinges.

TIA

Hi I had the same thing a couple of weka ago mine is a 2003 clk 270, it wasn't a pen with mine it was a CD box that was a little to big, I was about to take it apart very annoyed, when I pushed it firmly closed thinking I would dislodge the CD, to my supprise it clicked closed and then would open freely, what a relief.

Give it a go mine looked completly closed but obviously sue to the contents the lock had not full catched.

I will also take a couple of pictures for you later and post them if that helps. Please let me know as my car is not here and requirs a short drive

Thanks.

Do not put yourself out. It has been stuck for a few days now and there is nothing important in it so if you can take a photo next time you're at the car, it will be much appreciated.

I pushed it, pulled it, twisted it and gave it a few healty bangs but nothing. Then I had a terrible thought that I might set an airbag off so I'll leave it alone for a bit

Sorted

Problem now resolved.

Not exactly sure what fixed it but I was able to remove side panel and insert a long screwdriver. Some careful wiggling and catch snapped open.
All appears to be OK. I think the latch was too tight so the handle wouldn't release it

TOP TIP - do not put an oversized pen in the pen holder.
