Good deal or not?

A friend was approached by a garage which offered him £22k for his 99 SL320, 17k miles, panoramic roof and in perfect condition, My advice was to take the offer. Eventually after much deliberation, he did so. While on the lookout for a MB to replace the SL, he came across a 05 (10 months old) BMW 330CI with 400 miles (yes, 400 miles) and fully loaded- it reputedly cost £34k new but is not the current shape. After more deliberation and some haggling, he bought the BMW for £21.5k. I reckon he got a good deal. What do you think?

Sounds like a good deal to me. May not be the current model, but that won't matter in a couple years when the new shape ones are common as Mondeos. Then he'll have a desirable "last of the classic shape" car to sell on...

sounds a graet deal to me.A 330 old or new will be a great car.IMHO new car is too angular ,I had a 320d est which I loved,but new shape I just had reservations before te launch,since then se them on the road and ughh!
good price for sl,that is a lovely car,my choice by far if I had soewhere to keep a hard top.
