A **** heap
I did say i wasn't going to do it.. but looks like i will be.

Need some info on the standard harmon kardon amp in a C55AMG, is it possible to by pass this and use after market amps.. or would i have to use a in line converter?

I will be keeping the Command in the car as i do not want to change this -

or just an idea is it possible to connect direct to the command head unit.?

Any info is appreciated :thumb:

Its fed from fibre optic link to the head unit. There are boxes that break out the fibre optic to RCA (expensive), or you can feed from the head units's speaker output with a converter. There is no low-level (RCA) out on MB head units.

The amp is in the back though, so speaker wiring goes to the back, and there's lots of channels to think about ..

If you want to improve the sound think about better speakers. In Alfie's car we run the standard HK amp but Morel Dotech Ovations at the front and Tempo at the rear and they are very very good.

Cheers

Hi thanks for the reply, the head unit command has speaker wire output on the rear..? I just thought the fibre optic fed to the hk amp then the other side of the hk amp the speaker wire are..

I do already have an 8 channel line out speaker signal converter..

Yes, for when you don't have Harmon Kardon, the speakers would then wire direct to the head unit. But theres only 4 channels then

ok so 4 channels if tapped at head unit

or 7 channels if tapped after the HK amp..
thinking i may tap after the hk amp to give all channels and fingers crossed the signal is not altered to much by the amp
