- C320 estate
I have searched the forum for answers but my problem seems a little different so I would welcome opinions.
I have a 2001 C320 estate chassis number WDB2032642F114418 (RHD) and normally leave the seat in the same position (though it has always moved fine when required). My tiny (4' 10") wife drove it and altered the seat to suit.
Now nothing works properly. The seat will move forward OK but back in only very short stutters (@1/2" at a time) The rake and headrest won't move at all. The up/down does still work. Each time a door button is pressed the panel lights flicker slightly once momentarily. The seat moves back & forwards fine if a memory position is chosen (the rake doesn't move but I don't know if that is because of a fault or whether it is already correct in the memory). Also moves if a different key is used but will not from the door buttons. Rake doesn't seem to move at all and as it is now inclined right forwards for my little wife it is extremely uncomfortable even with the front to back adjustment correct.
steering wheel adjust still works on either the button or the memory and the mirrors also move on memory.
Where to start do you think? If the seat moves can't be a fuse (unless the rake has a separate one?) and the power module clearly works at least partially.
New switch maybe? Any work around for the rake alone?
Any other ideas. All help welcomed!
