Hesitation, KE-Jetronic problem?

That's a fantastic post Blake, welcome aboard.

When first reading I was thinking of a vacuum leak, nice to know it was.

Did you also sort the non return valve and accumulator issue to assist with hot starting?

Well I ordered a new check valve and accumulator, I will let you know what the result is. If the injectors are still leaking I will replace those too. I am also thinking about replacing the proximity sensor for the ignition; the engine simply bucks and stops accelerating when rpm's approach 5200. It may be something else, but my hunch is that this is an original sensor and it may be tired and out of specification.

Regards,
Blake

Well, I did replace my CPS (rear) and it solved my not being able to pull past 5200 rpms. It does seem to run smoother too. But oh what a pain it was to get out!

Cheers,
Blake

Hello Brabus, Did you manage to finally resolve your issue? What happened to be the problem in your case? Recently I have been experiencing pretty much the same as you describe in post #1. I blame it on extremely poor quality gas that I was pouring for the last several months... I have already changed the petrol station ... However, I'd like to know what has worked for you. When my car starts cold in the morning at about 0 degrees outside temperture, it fires alright on idle, very stable and consistent. It also starts very easy and fast in about a second or two. Then, if I try to accelerate it will stop at about 1300rpm and would not go any higher. If I keep on depressing the gas pedal it slowly accelerates with hesitation up until a point at about 2000rpm where it receives a boost and rapidly accelerate above 2000rpm. After that it works just fine with unnoticable hesitation in low rpm in between gear-shift when I depress the gas pedal rapidly. A lot has been done on the car in recent years. I think once the fuel system is cleaned it will be much better, but just wanted to know what fixed it for you. Worst case, before petrol station change caught on short video: Mercedes-Benz 190E 1.8 1990 cold start at about 8 degrees, acceleration problems - YouTube Thank you, -Nik
