Has anyone fitted the HID bixenon upgrade kit to a SL? Any problems? (flickering, radio interference etc) Would you recommend the kit? How easy was it to fit? Many thanks

I have only seen Bi-Xenon upgrades in the US on R129 SLs. The standard xenon lights are pretty much all you need - they're not cheap to get hold of either - £800 a set on eBay if they ever appear.

have read a bit about the xenons knocking about on ebay. especially the ones from taiwan, they are absoloutly rubbish by all accounts - this is info from another forum. they are not cheap and not good

not sure if mercedes actually make them for the 129, i doubt it.
i would try and source from a reputable UK, european manufacturer.

Xenons were available on the R129 from the '99 facelift - a £400 option on the 6 cylinder cars. The ones on Ebay I've seen were genuine parts - £600 ish each from MB.

Pretty sure I remember reading that MB had (have?) a complete Xenon upgrade kit for the R129, to fit '97 onwards.

Perhaps I should have made myself clearer. I was enquiring about the upgrade kit available from www.hids4u.co.uk
I recall someone on the forum mentioning them. They come with a 2 year warranty.
