Seriously since ive had the quick remapped i really have apreciated the extra torque,

But seriously a E55k must be a absolute Monster!

How fast are they? really? come on i need some owner's to tel me lol:devil:

Every single time I floor my '55k I never fail to start laughing, never gets old.

4.2 for a E55k & 4.3 for a CLS55 according to wiki :)

Always annoyed me the E was quicker than the CLS, but did it have the 6 pot brakes too?

The CLS is heavier & less aerodynamic than the W211 yet virtually the same 0-60

Not sure if the E has 6 pot also?

I recently went to Trax with Suky Sangha for my first ride in a AMG (CLS 55) and i can tell you from experience initially the acceleration is sickening it is that forceful! And that it just does not let up it just keeps pulling with internal re arranging force! i dont think you would get tired of it and somewhere down the line an AMG will be in my garage!:thumb:
Above driven sensibly and within the limits obviously:devil:

Tony.

Thanks Tony you deffo explained it well ;)

It's all relative. When I first drove a 55k I was shocked at how brutal the power delivery was. The next fastest car I had driven totally flat out was a W140 S600 V12.
The 55k feels a lot more powerful than the old V12 for sure.

But if you have the chance to ride a 1000cc+ super bike, your perception of speed and acceleration changes somewhat.

is more aerodynamic than the W211 E

Not in the slightest:

W211: 0.27cd
W219: 0.31cd

Just because it looks sleek doesnt mean it is! - Its the same with the W203, the Coupe is the least Aerodynamic out of the 3 body shapes.

The current most aerodynamic car on sale is the E-Class coupe, which doesnt look that sleek compared to many other cars.

I stand corrected, I've always thought it was the more aerodynamic out of the two... I believe I've read it somewhere on the US forum.

Out of interested where did you get your stats from?

Btw yes the 211 55 does has 6pot brakes at front & 4pot at the rear, even my SLK55 has that, not sure why.

Replaced mine at the dealer recently, they are on the very expensive side...
