How much do you pay for insurance

£285 fully comp on my 2003 SL55
£485 on my 2006 Lexus GS300

I have no idea why the Lexus is getting on for double the cost when its worth 1/3 of the SL and a hell of a lot slower!!

£140 just renewed, fully comp, protected NCB, excess £350, limit 2,000 miles for 1994 W124 cabriolet.

Did a comparison for myself and the wife who is on a provisional licence, she can only drive automatics.

As a comparison chose a 1.4 vauxhall corsa and a Honda legend 3.5V6.

Both fully comp - the price £309 the corsa and £369 the Honda !!

Couldn't believe the quotes were so close.

£380 for full comp, including NCB protection, and a 4,000 mile limit £350 excess for a 2001 SLK 320.

£285 fully comp on my SL55, £485 on my Lexus and £450 on my C220 cdi sport..... Latter is in the missus name and the other 2 as a multi car. Up for renewal next week though :(!

It's interesting seeing some of the mileage limits. An insurer told me that sometimes by asking for a low limit the premium can actually be more than going for 6000-7000, reasoning was that as you use the car less, you'll be less familiar with it and so more of a risk.

I insure four cars through Esure so get my 9 years no claims on each vehicle plus 10% multi car discount.

RS Megane 225 - £165 1,000 miles a year
RS Twingo 133 - £190 5,000 miles a year
CLS63 - £305 5,000 miles a year
Saab 9-3 - £400 9,000 miles a year

Limiting the mileage has made a real difference to the premiums I must admit. The Saab was recently acquired for doing the 250 miles round trip to pick up my little girl every other weekend.

Too much. Insurance is a made up entity by the price cartels that are insurers.

I spent many years in Guildford. My C55 costs 500 on a mirrored no claims but with a recent claim (on other policy) :(

I grew up in Ash :)

Hoping to move back soon. Family is in a planning battle to build 400 new homes in the village but naturally everyone has been moaning. Sooner it goes through the better. Can't afford to move back otherwise :(

I'm in Farnborough (now). Went to school at the RGS many years ago.

Wow that's an incredible deal!
Did you get the quote direct with esure or did you use a price comparison site?

Got my renewal through today. £557. Last year was £425.
Looked on one of the comparison sites, cheapest was £324. Think of all the people that just renew every year making the insurance companies a lot of money.

It is an incredible deal especially considering I was paying £380 for my 2011 S3 last year!

This is my third year with Esure. They were the cheapest at the time when I first joined them and they offer a loyalty discount which increases every year you renew with them. Currently it stands at 70% for me. If you go down the multicar route, you get an additional 10% off too.

This is the only time I've ever stayed with an insurance company longer than a year.
