How to check power steering fluid?

Would anyone be able to tell me where the power steering fluid reserve is located in the E220 CDI engine? I did have a poke around, but couldn't see anything obvious, though I didn't take off the plastic cover which maybe I need to do?

Bit of noise and juddering this morning at full lock, so just wanted to check the fluid level.

Yes take the plastic engine covers off and a small plastic tank with black cap will be revealed. There is a built in dipstick on the cap.

The power steering seems to be located toward the top on the fan belt pully side(left side)
