Ello fellow merc b's,

Right I want to make my white Benz shine and gleam and be glossy, so what is the best product for me, I know that I have to remove the swirls and tar spots and etc etc but what top product can I use to make that body work shine, with my other car which is darker it's not to hard to get that gloss but with a white car i dunno what to use, also would auto smart topaz be good or mirror image, I tried a mates recommendation of that showroom shine stuff but it's got a little shine but not deep, all help appreciated in advance

Have a look at the Jeffs Werkstatt Acrylic range, it's what I always used on my Candy White Scirocco.

I started using Autosmart Topaz about two months ago and it is now my weapon of choice. The shine and protection is matched only by its ease of application (damp sponge applicator, spread it thinly, let it dry and buff off). Can do the whole car in about fifteen minutes and the first test coat was going strong after four weeks when I gave into my urges and applied a second coat. Bird poo etc just washes of using a normal hose spray head.

EDIT: the 5L can is about £35 but you can buy a 1L bottle on Ebay for about £10 delivered.

Thanks for the reply guys il will check both products and I heard good things about the topaz so going to give it a try probably get the 1 litre to start and if it goes well Il get the 5L ........... And for you Howard stop with the beading porn lol it's a real turn on seeing a white merc with the beading effect lol

Lol

That was my first MB , a 230Ce ... I got that shine with T cut and Zymol Cleaner Wax believe it or not.

Zymol - wonderful stuff and even better when Halfords do 3 for 2.

I used to use Dodo Juice Diamond White wax on my last white car (XFR) Still have more than half a tub, but it's not so good on my latest thing so had to change. :(

It had the desired effect, but it's the preparation which you put in beforehand which makes it work.

Lol will have to give some of these a ago I been using lightning showroom shine and it has come a bit shiner but want more shine lol

Lighter coloured paint and whites in particular tend to look better with a sealant or even a coating which will often give a more glassy look over a wax.

Bucking that trend and having used a few different waxes from this particular company I can say from experience that ODK Sterling looks great and gave me a cracking finish on my silver paintwork. You can get tiny sample pots from www.samplethis.co.uk for a few quid.

Where you based Baz?

As I said earlier, I've a good half pot of Dodo Juice if you want it...

I use Autoglym aqua wax and this was the result!! You just spray on whilst the cars wet!! Smear all over then buff to a shine!!

Quick and easy no fuss!!!

ive never tried aqua wax but will have a look at it

AG Aqua Wax does give a decent shine but it does not protect for long and is expensive for what you get…the 3 for 2 offer at Halfrauds makes it more reasonable but I stopped using it because although it is quick and easy to apply, it's longevity is poor IMO.

i have quite a few different brand waxes from asdas- halfords - dodo juice- autgym to meguaires and some PTFE , also some from a m*8 who was a detailer ,as my last 2 cars have been silver but i suppose the megs gold class premium wax must be my fav as it give a great shine and seems to last a while, tho im told the lighter colours are harder to get a good shine into them , but being as im retired i normally wash * & wax once a week as plenty of time on my hands so longevity is not a issue
