I just came back from town and stopped at the lights, a small car pulled up alongside driven by an elderly gent......

......playing a harmonica!

I was simply astonished.

I've seen lots of people driving while eating, drinking, on the phone, smoking, smacking kids in the back seat e.t.c but playing a musical instrument - NEVER, not once.

But here's the thing, I didn't feel annoyed as I would have done if he was, say, on the phone. I just laughed and felt good towards to old boy. He really brightened up my day which was an acheivement as I'm bloody knackered.

Just wanted to share this with someone and hopefully give someone else a quick chuckle.

was it handheld or handsfree?

It wasn't one of those Bob Dylan/Neil Young neck brace types.

At first I thought it was a mobile phone, a really shiny one, then I noticed that he was actually playing it.

Still making me laugh 2 days later.

I knew an army major from the Highlanders regiment who used to play a bagpipe practice chanter while waiting at traffic lights?

Back in the 70's while touring the Highlands in a Commer camper, my dad used to play the harmonica whilst driving and steering using his kness. (I know, should have had a rack and pinion set up like everyone else. ):D

Amazing talent. Haven't tried to emulate this, as I can't play worth a damn. :(

i once looked sideways at a car whilst stationary at a set of lights and saw a middle aged man making a sandwich on the top of the dashboard - full works - two slices of bread, mustard etc- -had a napkin down his front - wife sleeping in the back and kid in the estate boot with his dog - strange - ...would made it funnier - he then attempted to race me from the lights, only to have all his sandwich making gear end up in the passenger seat ! - weird.

You couldn't make it up.

I was sitting at the same traffic lights 2 days ago, glanced sideways and there was a medium sized dog ridingon the petrol tank of a motorbike! (yes there was also the bloke riding it)

I was amazed, this is a very busy dual carriageway so unlikely that he was just doing it for a laugh, the dog looked so relaxed that it was obviously a regular thing for them.

I really had to look twice, there was no basket or anything he was just balanced on the tank, the lights changed and off they went. He looked very used to it, there was some kind of fairing which probably helped.

Whatever next?

Whatever next?

Yoda driving one of these?
