I've had her 4 years now, covered 70K miles and I still look forward to driving her every day! :)

OK, only a 5 pot oil burner but I just love the growl from the exhaust and the firm push in the back as I prod the accelerator :)

It's a load-lugger but the suspension is reassuringly firm and the car feels solid and planted along the twisty bits :)

Slipping into the supportive sports seat, enveloped in the rich smell of leather, the ergonomic wood 'n leather steering wheel falling beautifully to hand. Surrounded with all the toys I could wish for (ok, one or two more on the horizon ;) ) I have a HUGE grin on my face :)

Yes, I just love my Mercedes

Couldn't agree more. What a difference from climbing into a BMW. My favourite is the memory seats. Just love the way the seat moves forward and steering wheel move to my perfect driving position as soon as i insert the key, dipping mirror when reversing. You are right we are spoilt for toys.

You have hit the nail right on the head. I think any car that you look forward every day to driving is some hell of a car. Im only speaking from the experience of owning 3 cars so far (w202 is my 4th), the previous 3 being either small 'student-y' cars or a bit semi-barry-ish, so the merc is a ray of light for me. Its great being so excited to mod it, looking forward to that next mod, and even taking the utmost pride in it, by cleaning it religiously, inside and out, and taking care of it where ever you go, (or leave it more importantly). I look forward to many more years of Merc ownership, of many more mercs, all different types and all different specs and levels of toys etc, but undoubtably all sharing the common fact that i will never tire of driving it and getting up every morning and admiring my pride and joy!

Totally with you on this. I love every minute driving my 2000 SClass. Got the bug now, and been looking at adding a 190E to my collection. Saw one today definitely interested!

You see, that's what I miss about my Mercedes:

My new car's steering wheel is cube-shaped, and I can't reach it unless I'm in the boot.

;)

I've got my dad staying with me at the moment while he is in the UK. I've got him on my car insurance and I'm having trouble getting my CLK back off him! Can't blame him though, his own car in Spain is a Fiesta diesel.

I am off all this coming weekend which is unusual for me. I am going to go for a run in the hills (on foot that is) so I wil get the pleasure of a good drive out. I have some good roads locally so I will get the pleaure of driving my car how it should be.

In saying that I do love the short commute to work cossetted in that lovely interior. From the moment you put the key in and the steering column whirrs into place until it whirrs back up it is always a pleasrable drive!
