The massed ranks of my local philosophical discussion group (aka the pub) were considering this difficult issue last week.

After full and mature consideration, we reached the conclusion that chromed mirror shells might have a place on some BFO SUV's where they would be lost in a sea of chrome bling anyway but if fitted to a proper vehicle are abominations.

Thus being found with them on a MB (or, as we have to be inclusive these days, a BMW) should be punishable by something very horrible indeed, like being forced into a shellsuit and baseball cap followed by permanent internal exile to the crappier parts of Essex.

Hope that non judgemental and entirely balanced view helps.

I agree - this one is firmly in the "go and have a lie down until the urge passes" category.

Anyway, you can't add chrome mirror caps until you have diamond-studded all the bodywork. Unless... no, you wouldn't have... Would you?

I did have the passing thought about adding Diamante under the lacquer

Could I also suggest that you jack up the rear end, and put in a red light to illuminate the rear axle.

you could get some chrome spinners to go with them. And jack the rear of the car up and fit a red light to the axle. Then you will get noticed.
