I might buy this C32, advice please...

I had one years ago and they are great muscle cars (although I got rid of mine when it fried the ECU after three breakdowns when I really needed it) and I much prefer the estates. Keep looking, be flexible on budget and something good will turn up.
Thanks Charles,
I think that they are a very underrated car and in estate form are a genuine Q-Car..;)

Hi sweetpea. Pity the deal fell through. A C32 is a fab car and if you search on here you will find a list of the things to look for. I always refer people to Bobby Dazzlers post on what to look for as it is very comprehensive.

Good luck.

Most cars these days have had some sort of paintwork, from a bumper to a door to rust treatment... I'd be very surprised if you can find a 9 year old car that has not had any paintwork done!!

Its the repair job thats done that needs to be looked at... My rear wing and front bumper has been painted, it didnt stop me buying the car..

Looks like it has had paintwrork done to me.

Agreed mine has had work done because of rust. I think the choice between leaving it and getting it done is an easy one for someone who cares about the car.

As for a potential buyers of any car, some maybe put off if colour matching isn't 100%, however I think most would see it as the owner maintaining the car well. Also the cost of re-blending is far cheaper than the original treatment and re-spray.

As above, it's probably for the best.

I've nothing against high-milers, but a 150k C32 needs to have been very well looked after to make it a worthwhile buy.

Some of the AMG running costs/repairs can be pricey, so you're probably better of spending a bit more and buying a nice one, will be cheaper (and nicer to own) in the long run I bet :)

Regarding paint/bodywork - I would bet that 90%+ of all cars on the roads have had some cosmetic paintwork at one time or the other. You'd be doing well if after 150k miles and nine years to have not picked up even the slightest of scrapes or corrosion :o

So long as it's done properly, you would probably never know. Cue Dieselman and his PTG! :D
