Intermittent sound - command works fine otherwise

In the last 2 days, dependant on the road surface 'pot holes' my audio for all command function Radio \ CD \ Nav \ phone \ DVD just cuts out. not sure where to look or how to get 'behind' the unit to check for loose plugs? Can anybody help?

Is your car a W210 or W211?

I am a total novice to this so please excuse my ignorance, but what is meant by W210 or W211? Model ? E 320 cdi est on an '03 plate, full spec ex demo from MB dealer.

Sounds like a fault in the optical ring. Could be simple or not. Def a warranty job.
