Intresting c124 coupe

I used the dualmass. Got an (alleged) uprated clutch cover from some bandit on the web and a new friction disc. Actually works really well, nice soft uptake and only protests if abused on hill starts. Still miss the auto though. Stuck on the M6 for an hour and a half on Mon when some cretin decided he wanted squished by a truck. Clutches are crap at stop start when you're used to a TC doing all the work. Seriously thinking of the 722.6 and controller from oljefer if I can persuade it into the tunnel.

I'm quite lucky in that I don't get much traffic at the hours I drive mine at, so stop start was never a problem. Having said that I'm a little lazy with the gears, pull away in 2nd and only really use 4th and 6th.

Ah, but what diff ratio? Mine is too long for a 2nd gear start unless it's on the flat. 5th gear direct gives 70mph @ 2000rpm. 3rd is a real delight for relaxed country lane cruising with the engine just below its peak and the turbo spinning up nicely but not under any strain.
I won't be towing the caravan with it though. :D:D :ban:

Are not all MB Manual boxes of that era "getrags" anyway ???? Just either "dog leg" or not as the case may be !

No - MB made their own boxes too.

Thats 320 was cheap... Those seats fetch £1.5-2K in good condition like that.
Manual 320's are lots of fun too!

Which is what I was trying to say but :wallbash: not to mention the Becker cascade

Did you buy it than Jay

I've got a 3.07 asd at the moment, used to be a 3.65 but it was revving to hard when on the motorway. I'm having issues with the speedo readout, so I estimate that 70mph is 1800rpm in 6th.

That would be a good picture, a diesel sl whistle's past towing a caravan!:D
