Like a lot of people, I tend to use my iPod only in the car as a jukebox, leaving the CD changer redundant. The in-car adapter charges the iPod, and so it lives in the glovebox all the time. My 8gb Nano was getting full, so I thought I would splash out on a Touch :D. Great, except the adapter doesn't charge it!:(

Is there any solution to this?

I changed my iPod to a touch and it works fine with my iPod kit, so you shouldnt be having any problems.

I think it depends on the wire. You can buy an adaptor I think which will sort it out.

same with the iphones, standard docking stations will not charge the unit.some manufactureres charge an extra £30 for the same unit that will charge the iphone.robbing b******s.

Thanks for the replies. Obviously Apples Support Pages don't help with non-Apple accessories.

Still not sure what to do

Scosche Passport charging adapter is what you need. Goes between the cable and the iPod and switches the pins around so that it charges. Available from Apple shops/Apple online store/etc.
