I had an XM back in the day. Apart from a couple of electrical component failures it was a fantastic carFrench cars i would actually like: Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, Alpine A110 (the original one), Citroen SM, Citroen DS, Citroen XM in that order. I actually saw two XM's in about 1987 undergoing winter testing when i was on a school ski trip in the Alps. They had all blacked out windows. Citroen have made some amazing looking cars and that's always to be applauded i think.
Or even better the Rover 800! I think the Police nicknamed them the Belgrano on account of their wallowy handling!
