Issues with Police BMWs

French cars i would actually like: Renault 5 Maxi Turbo, Alpine A110 (the original one), Citroen SM, Citroen DS, Citroen XM in that order. I actually saw two XM's in about 1987 undergoing winter testing when i was on a school ski trip in the Alps. They had all blacked out windows. Citroen have made some amazing looking cars and that's always to be applauded i think.

They seem to use a lot of ‘undercover’ Audis in Birmingham!

Yep, similar to what being used here. They also seem to favour the A6 Estate which I believe is used as their ARV

Love Citroens, especially the current DS range. Shame I can't say the same about their dealer here in Norwich

I had an XM back in the day. Apart from a couple of electrical component failures it was a fantastic car

Fantastic! Ive not seen that before. I actually think his commentary style really adds to it - really matter of fact.

Ive since read it was a standard 827 Vitesse but with slicks, but was that correct, as it seems standard they were good for only about 130mph? Its intriguing - i found another old forum from 2015 where it was suggested his second attempt car had a turbo lump. Would love to know more if anyone knows?

'' the 827 Vitesse used for the 1990 Challenge was fitted with racing tyres, better brake discs with competition pads, a roll-cage and a louder exhaust so that the marshals could hear it. However, the rest of the car, including the engine, was completely standard.''
