Issues with Tinting Rear Window - W203 coupe

Hi all,

I'm looking to get the 2 side rear windows and the rear windscreen tinted on my w203 coupe.

I have talked to about 3-4 people getting quotes and the most recent person I talked to has said that they don't touch them because of issues with the antenna on the rear screen.

Searching on here it has been mentioned before but it didn't seem anyone had any issues.

Can anyone had this done in East Anglia where I could go to be sure?

Not exactly the same car but we had our rear windows tinted, W203 Saloon. We also have a rear screen aerial and have had no problems with it. The tinting place we used was in Surrey and the owner of it had won a number of 3M 'Tint-off' competitions.

Have you tried to see if you have Pentagon near you?

There is actually one in Colchester, not to far away.

Will have to give them a call tomorrow and see how much they charge.

Independent Tracking Ltd in Dereham, Norfolk are a good bet for window tinting. Tom is a really nice guy too.

Have spoken to pentagon, they are Mercedes approved so use precut tinting film - which he says is designed not to interfere with the aerial.

They have a special offer on at the minute where he would do the 3 rear windows of my car for £265 + VAT... He said its usually £465 +VAT .

I know you get what you paid for but that is double what everywhere else had quoted me, and they only open mon - fri so dont think I will be going there lol.

That's actually a decent price considering it's Pentagon. At the end of the day the quality of the tint film used is important (3M are a good brand). I think having the rear windows tinted on our W203 cost about £300+ about 4 years ago.

Pentagon have franchises all over the place now and the prices between them vary a lot. I got my mpv done for 250 ish all round in Manchester whereas was quoted double that in London.
