Jacko Dies??

He was a legend, despite all the bad publicity. A very misunderstood person who became an easy target...........

....what's wrong with Def Leppard, I thought they were quite good ;)

I hope we do get lots of Leppard, The Hysteria Album was brilliant and the bands best seller, Some great tracks such as Animal, Pour Some Sugar on me, Love bites and Armagedon It as well as the Hysteria track itself! Now we are talking music :bannana:

Always been a Maiden man myself, aren't we going a bit OT?:D

Step forward all those journalist & entertainment commentators who will say:
'I always knew something like this would happen'

I feel sad for his family, but I hate such moments in modern media where so many people step forward to announce their wisdom.

from the woodwork out they come

BBC NEWS | UK | UK bodyguard's tribute to Jackson

The guy had a good heart and would do everything he can, but everyone looking in couldn't understand him

R.i.p mj

A legend has passed on.

His death may have been a surprise, but shocking? Hardly....here was a man who had undergone numerous operations for comestic surgery -- just ask any surgeon the sort of culmaltive pressure that kind of invasive surgery has on the body. In addition he had a problem with prescription drugs and by most accounts his erratic lifestyle was not the most condusive to good health.
As for Uri Geller telling the BBC "Michael was a fit man, he was thin".....come on Uri, only the most tunnel visioned person would have rated Jackson as "fit".
Interesting that when Geller was asked when he had last met or spoken to Jackson he said "I can't comment on that" -- Why, some big state secret? or maybe because Geller had not seen his "great friend" for about 2 years!

Elvis also did a few covers, so presumably the original artists were the "innovators" there!

IMHO Michael Jackson was easily one of the greatest recording artists of all time. The best songs he ever performed were written by him, the guy could certainly belt a tune out and his dancing/choreography was amazing.

That said I think the guy was an idiot. Doesn't stop me liking his work! :)

I agree Shude.

Elvis, like Diana Ross and Frank Sinatra were/are singers not composers. They didnt write a thing but they sang very well. Mr Jackson wrote, choreographed and sang a lot of his material. That makes him more talented in my opinion. I still dont like the bloke living or dead for all he has done off stage shall we say, but I recognise his musical talents.

Elvis was in the right place at the right time. He has Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller to thank for his success just as Diana Ross and Frank sinatra have Diane Warren, Burt Baccharach and Hal David amongst others to thank.

If you're looking for an example of a singer/songwriter to mourn , they don't come much greater than John Lennon .

Sinatra probably owed most to Tommy Dorsey who gave him his break .

Geller is a publicity seeking charlatan. The man is a complete ****. I also saw Al Sharpton managed to get himself on TV outside UCLA Medical Centre about 5 minutes after MJ was pronounced.

Parasites riding the tailcoats of the talented.

Maybe he'll be laid to rest in the grounds of Neverland , which will become a Mecca for fans to rival Graceland , and in a few years the grave will be found to be empty thus fuelling rumours that he isn't really dead and was sighted in a McDonalds serving burgers to Elvis !

Aha! McDonalds Burgers! So that's what happened to Shergar!

Elvis was more of an innovator? how so? MJ .... created the music video as we know it (got film directors involved etc).

True legend.

Although shot on film , as opposed to video , there were 'music videos' long before Jackson's efforts . By Elvis and many others , including the Beatles .

The music promo of 'Jailhouse Rock' springs to mind , how many years before any of Jackson's efforts ? Elvis performed LOTS of his songs on film , and actually was a successful film star , something that Jackson could not claim to be .

I am not a big Elvis fan either , but Jackson is just another dead musician .

There will be another story in the news tomorrow , and Jacko will be yesterday's news .

one of the most talented entertainers to ever grace this earth... what a huge shame.

His legacy will be around for generations no doubt..

Are you serious?

I feel we are all once agin being hugely influenced by the media and I find it sad that real news now disappears or.... 'Gets buried' :o

Don't understand how he is a huge loss? He hasn't done anything constructive in the last 10 years....
