Jacko Dies??

Condolences to his family. The rest - totally underwhelmed. Neverland gets a lick of paint + $50 entrance fee. Media go nuclear. Waxworks?... I'll leave that! Will continue to enjoy his music. No, I wont be buying his greatest hits (being pressed as we speak) nor reading owt about people who knew him (slightly) Max Clifford been on the box yet? Prime Minister phoned his family? Sun shining. grandchildren due any moment. Heads up for a great weekend.

Elvis was more of an innovator? how so? MJ brought together rock, jazz, hip hop & pop for the very 1st time, created the music video as we know it (got film directors involved etc).

True legend.

Elvis was THE innovator, the catalyst that started it all. I didn’t say that MJ didn’t pioneer sounds and styles. Elvis arguably had the earliest 'music video' with Jailhouse Rock, and his movies could also be argued to be little more than showcases for his music. I’m Not taking anything away from MJ's talent as a singer or indeed songwriter or his undoubted success, but Elvis was there in the beginning, modern music in all its various forms came from the style he created

i hope he gets the peace the world never gave him.

Then again he brought most of it upon himself.
Could swine flu be the cause? i mean he did appear without his masks sometimes

I presume you are questioning his ability to drive just before he died?

Yep - did he run out of skill or did the family thruxter wipe him as it entered the highway off a slip road....

No he was not....

He wrapped up songs written by others in a cover suitable to appeal to teenagers and was marketed as such.

Ike Turner, Carl Perkins and a few others may have an opinion as to whether he was the "innovator"

And many other stars appeared on TV in what would now be clips from those shows edited to be a music video... EP did not make the first music video.

Rubbish

I saw the film "Back to the Future" so know it was the kid teaching CHuck Berry how to be innovative .. :D

It was actually Forest Gump!!

Are you sure .. I thought he played on the stage and a friend called up Chuck Berry to listen to his playing....but then Forest saved the world or was that chocolates?

Elvis must be the King as it is an undeniable fact that this person died on the throne!

Although I can laugh at the jokes along with the rest if us, I still think if you JUST consider the music and dance the guy was a legend.

Some of his early stuff for me the Bad album and thiller.

Yes he was an odd bod, but I think its quite sad that someone who had it all really had nothing at all.

He never came across as being happy, (maybe the plastic wouldn't stretch) but I hope he is a piece at last.

I certainly have enjoyed his music some classic tracks and dance routines to match. I guess we have all at some point danced to his music.

At least now give he guy a break.

RIP

BBC were slow last night. But Eastenders mentioned the death of Jacko tonight at 8-05. That was a quick scene insert!!

Most of the jokes have just been removed from this thread for taste reasons.

Move along!

Sorry for his family but have to say nothing he has done in the last 20 plus years has impressed. Elvis was great right up to the end with great performances and I will always remember the news of his death. With Jacko, I flicked the channel over and marched off to work chewing my toast and didn't give it a second thought.

well did he sell more albums than elvis or not/ that is the question. seem to have impressed a lot of people

Channel 4 now

MJ in Music tribute

I defy almost anyone not to be tapping their feet and nodding their head. Forget the 'rest' of MJ just his music and dance.
