Just how illegal is this...?

Idiot should have just used an LCD panel like everyone else rather than mucking around with motors and hinges. :D

A few years ago I saw an "eclipse kit" advertised - it was simply a polarised clear plastic that went over the number plate, and when you hit a button, it powers it turning your plate black. A relatively simple concept!!!

M.D. Wright Inc. "Eclipse Kit"

Its completely illegal here in the uk. The charge would be perverting the course of justice. I like it though!

I prefer using lasers to kill cameras, when mixed with massive IR pulse technology it can prevent most cameras from taking an image.

It's great that the UK have less traffic cops and more tech used for detection - black arts tech will always be leagues ahead of anything the plod put out.

Apparently...if this happens when the bobby or stooge is active with a camera they note your Reg and you get a knock on the door in a day or two for them to investigate why exactly their gun didn't work with your car when it worked fine with everyone elses. Then see post above by camerafodder.

Wasn't someone (eloquently described as "businessman" by newspaper) jailed recently for using radar / speed cam jammer?

I'd like one so I could run my same plate but in black and silver, then if i was stopped by Bobby law i'd flip it round and say they were for show purpose and forgot to flip it back.

google/ebay time!

Yeah, but for one thing. Cop aint going to believe that someone who knows every aspect of his car's appearance doesn't know which plate it's wearing. OCD and forgetful? Nah.

it would still be the same plate but pre '73 colours.
I've often thought of just running black and silver plates anyway:devil:

It's your choice but when the police spot it as an offence they will have to stop you. Instead of dicking around with you they could be catching a driver drunk/texting/uninsured/ etc but if they see an offence being committed they have to act. I'd rather they were freed to catch the real dangers on the road but the law is the law and if you break it they have to enforce it.

So it's not a real offence then or they wouldn't just be dicking around? :dk:

Just get a proper pre 73 car , then you can display them legally .
