Kleemann SLK 55K S8

Here you go, a photo of the engine bay. It would have been fairy full under there with the original engine however the great big supercharger and relocated bits and pieces - like the air injection pump - makes it even more full under there 😁

Ooof, what an absolute beast😎
Volunteer required to detail it?

Looks good.....but there is stuff thats not very pretty that should be hidden........needs the factory cover somehow adapted to fit.....if not then at least the unused cover fitting lugs removed.

I think there is a bonnet out of shot. 😊

It would require some fairly serious adaptation to fit, because the supercharger gets in the way, and there are also some relocated items from the conversion (like the air injection pump) which might need to be relocated again.

I do like pretty engine bays but on this occasion I may celebrate the raw appearance rather than cover it up.

I don’t usually post photos of cars I buy but this one might be a rare exception. It’s both a Mercedes and an unusual example at that, and so it might be of interest to some MBClubbers, so here it is.

Today I picked up a Kleemann SLK 55K S8. I know, I know it’s a little dull compared to a Mercedes-AMG ForFour Black Series AMG Sport Plus Night Edition Premium Plus 125 Navi facelift powered by Brabus.

Very nice.

Yep there's no way the normal cover would fit

Air filter boxes look like SL55 or E55 (they’re the same). The intake elbow appears to have been rotated 90 degrees and the standard crankcase breather stub has been blocked. To be honest it looks like it could have been done better. I really don’t like the way they have moved an electrical earth point to a bolt that holds an oil cooler pipe union in place. It is crying out to me for a really good tidy up and sort out. I love a conversion that looks factory original in its execution. This is not that.
No hard feelings - I think we are closer friends than that :)
