LAtest NAv DVD and COMAND software

Just wondered if someone out there might be able to help.
I have a C220CDI registered end Jan 06 (55 plate). It has the COMAND APS DVD system installed. The W203 unit I believe


1. How can I tell if the firmware in the unit is the latest install? I believe it is the MY01 update?
2. Are there any sources for the latest NAV DVDs other than Mercedes themselves? They seem ludicrously over priced to me at MB.

You have COMAND-APS not COMAND. The MY01 update is a old type CD based COMAND upgrade.

As for the COMAND-APS in the C class - there was a update to the firmware that the dealer only can install in March 06, which makes TMC traffic appear on the correct side of the road (its an AGW flash update, ask them to do it for reason above).

You can buy map disks on ebay, buy sealed ones, if you look at the COMAND-APS faq on www.mercupgrades.com theres an ebay search that will find you the right thing. If you want the absolute latest, get V8.0 - although I never found much between it and any of the V6.x disks for the UK - the disk covers whole of Europe, so I guess they were updating stuff in Europe.
Also, the A/B/C/CLK/ML/GL disks are different to the E/CLS/SL/SLK/S/CL disks, although the are V4.0 (and possibly 6.x) for both, make sure you get the right one

- Obviously older disk, cheaper it is

You could also talk to Alfie (PM him on this forum) about disks he may have a source or get you a disk that is guaranteed to be (a) original (b) correct for your car if you are worried about eBay.
