Learning to Drive

As an advanced driving instructor , I'd have to comment there is no reason why that should be the case .

You only have to demonstrate competency in driving the car - nothing specifies which feet you should use .


tell that to the guy who failed my brother for doing it.. theres loads of things you can cant do that if a driving test instructor dont like on that day he wont pass you

one of which was using both feet..
 
Your brother should have appealed if that WAS the case .

There is NOTHING in the DSA's rules to specify which foot you must brake with .

All driving EXAMINERS have to undergo an advanced driving course at their training centre in Cardington which takes them to a level very similar to Police Advanced Drivers .

INSTRUCTORS , on the other hand , are not neccessarily advanced drivers ( although many are ) and the standards of instruction vary greatly .

It is more likely that your brother , as a 'novice' driver , was not using left foot braking competently , and more than likely failed for some other reason .
