Can anyone help me ???
i been calling around trying yo get a key code for my van as this would cost me £15 rather then picking the lock for £45.

I tried going into a merc dealership and phoning them up but i have had no luck. I have the green slip to say i brought it just not the green book which still hasnt come through so this is causing me a lot of problems as i have been told they need the book.

can anyone help me by giving me a number or information where i can get help getting the key code.

thanks

I think you are going to struggle even ordering a key until your log book arrives.

£45 sounds cheap.

you can order a key in advance provided you have the VIN to give them but they won't give it to you without the log book etc but at least it will be there waiting when you get the paperwork

Are they locked in the cab or the cargo bay? If they're in the cab then your friendly RAC or whatever you subscribe to man should be able to fish them for you, or local scrote...

Failing that call a local independant window place and find out which piece of glass is cheapest.

Cheepest bit of glass would cost around £70-80 although i havent tried the scrap yard yet.
I also am not a member of the AA or RAC although i will phone up and find out who i am with just incase.
But yeah the keys have fallen down inbetween the seats. so there awkward to get at :/
Just wanted to say thanks for the replys i will let you know the final outcome soon i hope as its winding me up looking at my van everytime i leave the house knowing i cant get in.
feels like its taunting me :p

How hard might it be to get a bar into the top of the window and force it down? Are they electric windows?

If so, I'm not sure if this might have a negative impact on the motors. But if not, its got to be worth a try to get something slim and solid in there and just hang off it :p

Dont use something with hard edges though, you dont want to shatter it!

If its a 638 vito you can drill through the handle just behind the lock barrel, then once that is free of the door, slide the handle assembly back, and get in that way, it kills the handle, but they're cheap, and you can put your lock back in the new one.

This is why you see lots of vitos and sprinters with metal caps over that part of the lock, as theives just use a hammer and screwdriver down the back of the handle to get in...
