M104 HFM hesitates cold when revving up. Open air filter.

Using a flywheel and crank sensor from the late m111 engines gives you a 60-2 trigger wheel, then it's just the throttle body to sort out. I paid just over 700 for an emerald ecu to run mine, not that expensive when you consider the cost of an m104 loom from the dealer....
Thanks carat.

I talked to a shop here and they recommended an Ecumaster EMU standalone (I was interested in Autronic SM3 which they also sell) for 800€ + installation for some 700€. So 1500€ up-n-running. They would use M104 existing wiring harness.

What do you think can be expected from such an investment? Gains in hp, torque...?

You wont see massive gains on a standard engine, in the case of your w114 I would only convert to standalone if your planning on taking the engine further. I also suggest that you don't re-use the m104 loom, it's just a problem waiting to happen.

OK, thanks again, carat.

Don't think I'm going to take the existing engine further from what's already done; open air filter, de-cat and 2,5" free flow exhaust.

The plan is to find an C36 AMG engine and drop that in (I missed one in Sweden some time back :wallbash:). I guess I by then need a standalone to get the engine running...?
