M111 Larger Crankshaft Pulley

the current ic is more than capable of cooling the air volume required for this engine.

The more you compress the air the greater the temperature will be, thus for a given volume it will have less oxygen.

For God's sake u dont even own a s/c engine stop posting here without having any useful info about the current subject. I opened this thread for ppl who have this specific engine with/or planned to do upgrades

So the fact that you own a car with a supercharger means that physics can be ignored...

As the speed increases the efficiency drops, likewise the same for pressure increase due to internal leakage in the blower....

What temperatures are you seeing before and after increasing the boost?

Im not ignoring physics but I do not gonna spin the sc over 14000rpms. a maximum range to keep it effective and sufficient. s/cs btw produce less heat than turbos thus an intercooler is more than capable to do the job for m111 engine at least.

ASP do 232mm pulleys but not sure on what engine, is not the easy way to change the charger pulley?

I have a Brabus smaller charger pulley on mine which came as part of the K1s tuning kit

hmm never heard of a 232asp pulley on m111.955 engine. IIRC u have the m62 with the clutched pulley ?

Not sure if they do a 232 for the m111.955 think mine is the m62 definitely a clutched pulley supplied by brabus. Will check full spec tomorrow

The standard intercooler is not capable of cooling the air sufficiently with modded pulleys so you won't get the full performance benefit. I reckon mine is now one of the quickest 230 clk there is :D

Dieselman and Mr Mcoy are correct you cannot beat the laws of physics :D

btw is ur clk pre 2000 or post 2000 ?

As far as u guys supporting the biggest IC idea u have to know that the larger you make the path for the compressed air to cool down, the more pressure you lose . The problem is the power loss from the pressure loss is far greater than any benefits you get from cooling... Also keep in mind that intercoolers are a necessity for turbochargers and and are required for superchargers if the boost level is really high. the stock IC is just fine for keep the M111 running at an efficient state as after intake upgrade it runs at its normal level and not in a "forced one" as it was running way under its limits.

flanaia1 still waiting for info about ur car and the upgrades

Maybe he's busy :dk:

Ian has a very nice CLK which has been tweaked by Brabus.

Search the forum for Ian's posts containing the word Brabus.

but I need to know the production-year of the car

Bobby I can see that u own a c32amg, this has always been my passion but the only reason I didnt buy it it's because it isnt available in manual transmission...

but I need to know the production-year of the car

1997, it was one of the first W208's built and had the Brabus tuning kit and other goodies fitted as new by the original owner who owns a London restaurant. It was then owned by his brother and I am the 3rd owner (not bad for a 15 year old car). The pulley was fitted when new in 1997 along with a bigger Intercooler by Brabus. It works fine so I had no reason to remove the clutch and as brabus is expensive kit I decided not to play with anything they put on until it failed or compromised performance, most of my mods have been on exhaust, brakes, head, cams, valves etc.. think I have gone as far as you can with it now but I am well pleased with the result all it needs now is a good clean and I'm ready for summer.

why didn't u install a larger crankshaft pulley as well ?

As above I decided not to play with anything Brabus had done, they know better than me and said the pulley combination on there with the bigger IC was as far as you could go.

if it was "as far as u could go" why did u take the risk of playing with valves, cams ?

btw I've heard of a guy on a forum who run a larger crank pulley among with a smaller s/c one and the results were stunning but I am not aware of the engine's health at present
