Just thought I would throw this one out there and see if anyone else has had any Injector issues.
Basically over the last few months I have had 2 x fuel injectors fail on my C63 (5 year old with 29K on the clock running a Stage 2 Weistec Supercharger for the last 11K miles)
The first failure was caused by number 4 injector failing fully open, which caused a horrendous misfire this happened while driving at 20mph. I quickly pulled over and turned the engine off. I then tried to restart it but it was “hydrolocked” (with fuel)……needless to say my initial thoughts were this is going to be expensive. However, after being low loaded to Stans garage (he is located nearby me and has a Supercharged S63) it was quickly diagnosed that it was a injector failure, due to the fact as soon as the ignition was turned on fuel flowed from injector 4 continuously.
The second failure a couple of months later which happened just as I was pulling onto my drive. A flashing CEL light, then the misfire again. I plugged in a code reader and had engine misfire on cylinder 7. However, it was not as “violent” as the previous one and I cleared code and started car…all good. Or so I Thought……it would tick over nicely but as soon as I put it in gear to pull away I would get the flashing CEL and then the misfire. So Greenflag to the rescue, and back to Stans. again changed out the injector. However this time it appeared as if the injector was working but on closer investigation it was “firing” spuriously.
Injector 7 replaced and the car all fine again.
I am planning on changing out the other 6 injectors just as a “maintenance measure” when I get home from work (currently overseas).
I did a bit of research and found that it is not un-common for M156 engine injector failures so basically just wondered how many…if any other forum members had experienced this.

Stage 2 keeps the original injectors.....Stage 3 has the bigger injectors supplied by Weistec.

i see...just googled and only found 1 other instance again with a jammed injector
could it be infrequent use i blve your away a lot??

i would have thought the origs are bosch injectors so shldnt be any quality issues with these

Just seems strange 2 in 2 month fail. That's why I am changing the others out (not cheap but cheaper than suffering any engine damage)

Lee what fuel do you use?

Do you stick to the same one religiously ?

I thought about the Weistec injectors but it would require more mapping as they are bigger than the OEM......

Always use Vpower Nitro from the same garage every time.

lmao I'm sure you were

first pic say you were being VERY supportive:D

Yeah Chris was very supportive.....he documented the whole experience for me lol

Have you got Bluetooth torque app?

If so see if you can log duty cycle of your injectors. If they are maxing out frequently they might be wearing excessively.

No John i have not got that APP. been using fusion for monitoring IAT's and reading codes.
However, will have Torque ASAP and then be heading down to yours once the Rolling Road is set up so we can check out the duty cycle :thumb:

Torque Pro is invaluable......cost around £6 and with the race add on is pretty much all you require for everyday monitoring

what is torque pro??
