M156 Fuel Injector failures

Does anyone know any good EU based online shop that supplies M156 injectors?
Do I need to purchase any additional parts such as o-rings, brackets etc when replacing the injectors or would the simply the injectors be sufficient?

BOSCH Injector in the AUTODOC app https://m.autodoc.co.uk/bosch/7293009

Buy in the app for a better discount rate, often seems to be best on Monday up to 40%f off.

Nothing extra needed except some Vaseline to lubricate the seals as you slide them in.

Thanks for confirming the part number. I actually looked for the injectors at Autodoc yesterday and they were even more expensive, thanks for the tip regarding discounts! Found them now through Daparto for €195 shipped to Sweden, €100 less than through Swedish Autodoc.

My engine has 37-38K miles (60K KM) and is from 2011. Do you think it would be good to change or is it premature? I have no opportunity to check the condition on them. I'm thinking better safe than sorry :-)

It's so cheap to do and much better safe than sorry. Easy DIY just be very careful tightening the bolts holding the rail to the intake manifold because it's made of a magnesium composite and cracks easily.

It's a serviceable item 🙂, should be changed around 60k. The old injectors will benefit from injector cleaning additive during it life, just 1 application will help keep them from becoming clogged up 👍

MB part number for the injector is
A 156 078 0023 (this injector is Bosch).

Bosch part number equivalant injector from Bosch without AMG stamp is
0 280 158 142

Thanks for all info! As it is serviceable item at 60K miles and the car is more than 10 years I'll change them. Unfortunately I don't have any garage or similar to conduct this work and would have to do it on the street which is not optimal and hopefully it would cost me €100 in labour which is worth it.

This video is worth watching. If I find any more on YouTube, will add video to help out 👍

Just spoke with the workshop of changing the injectors, they said it would take 2.5h and cost me €280 in labour cost for the job (Not sure if taxes is added or not). Do you think an AMG specialist is needed for this type of work?

It doesn't take 2.5hrs...

You'd probably do it in an hour if you know what you're doing, closer to two if you're DIY taking your time at home.

There's nothing complicated about the job and access is good. Just have to be methodical and careful with the torque spec on bolts.

So you think I can turn to my local workshop that are not working specifically on performance cars / AMG?

Yes. I did it myself and whilst I'm quite handy at most things I'm certainly not a trained mechanic. Watch the video above, nothing fancy about it.

It's very easy and definitely something to consider if your generally handy around the car. Any mechanic can do this too and you don't need to take it to dealer. As stated above, it only takes an hour or there abouts.

Take care when you torque down, go gently with the bolts. 👍

Echo the above, I did mine a few months ago at same time as doing PCV valve and intake gaskets and it is pretty trivial. No special tools needed, just make sure you get the torque specs right. I bought separate o rings from Mercedes at the same time as injectors from a seller on eBay, just to make sure I could complete the job, but the injectors came with o rings.

How much are MB/AMG ones from a dealer - anybody know? Thanks.

Hi buddy, I got mine from ebay, seller was partsinmotion. Paid approx £230. They were guinuine parts.

Mercedes don't make their own injectors, the OEM is Bosch as has been mentioned a few times in this thread, get those. I also used partsinmotion as the seller when I did mine

Yes I'm aware they don't, I'm sure they don't make any parts - just wondered if anyone had been quoted a price from a dealer/indie - as I had a quote today of over £100 each........and three hours to fit. I've found Bosch as low as £30........
