M3 Touring: Where AMG Failed it - BMW Nailed it!!

The front wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t “over egg” the bulges, cut outs and blades on the bonnet and bumper
It’s so chav it’s almost as if it’s a poor quality aftermarket boy racer kit
Less is more and no points are awarded for adding any of the above
RS3 is exactly the same, it’s too much

I’ve said it before but in a couple of years BMW will have over produced and there’ll be too many on the market, pre regs will go for £50000 ish

The M3 touring certainly seems like the performance car of the moment. Partly because it’s a blooming brilliant car, and partly because many people have wanted there to be a touring model for many years …and now there is one. If your order is not already in then would imagine you’ll have to pay overs for a while.

Saw a couple in the flesh at goodwood last year - 10/10

Performance estates. It’s a strange man phenomena, I love them
Manufacturers also have been hypnotised
Original Volvo T5 estate only
Original Audi RS2
Journalists and enthusiasts love them.

Actual buyers? Not so much. Which is why we have these weird high performance SUV's

Great driver's car, I'm sure

But where do you actually use that performance, without making the Labrador in the back throw up?

And....

To be fair....now those grilles have been around a while I don't even really notice them anymore. I quite admire them daring to be different....Merc have gone a bit vanilla recently....the "slightly melted" look does not help. I preferred their more edgy previous shapes.....yes I'm getting old!!!

Difficult to take the latest performance BMW’s seriously when they are so Pig Ugly. 😳
Shame many years ago I had an E93 335d and loved/still love the look of them.

They are receiving great reviews so are justifying the hype. I’m not a big fan of BMW’s but totally get why the M3 Comp Touring is so desirable. Looks wise they are marmite, but I have to say I like it. They are commanding a slight premium at the moment due to demand and that will possibly mean they will hold strong values for a couple of years. A friend has one on order and it’s due in late June, so I’m looking forward to him getting it and having a proper look and test drive.

This is a good indication of the market for them, reserve already lowered...

I wouldn't say the reviews are great. All the journos are just demsontrating the practicality and saying it drives much like the saloon, as all estates always have... They've stopped commenting on the grille because it's old news but they're not saying they like it either (mostly). Still a bit of damning with faint praise going on.

Maybe we interpret reviews differently, but it certainly hasn’t been negatively received in the same way the current C63 has.

Aint that the truth....not seen a positive paragraph about that let alone a whole review!!!

Yes, the C63 is not very loveable. Whilst they all like the M3 Touring they aren't saying it's amazing either. It's over hyped. I'd never have had a C63 Estate if there was an M3 Touring. Now there is but I'm not spending that kind of money on one and I can't get past the looks.

Not the best review ive heard
