Mapped C43 better than C63?

If AMG put a vehicle together, its an AMG.
Oh dear.

Where's that "can of worms" emoticon when you need it

Seriously for a moment, welcome to the forum and enjoy your mapped C43, but unless you want to be at ground zero in yet another sh1tstorm about "real" AMG's, I'd quit this line of argument while you're ahead :D

But in theory the OP may have a point when the circuit isn't hot and dry. Then again if you allow a tuned engine to compare to a stock one, you should really allow for a tuned engine vs a tuned one ;)
;)

I did wrestle with this somewhat and decided that the C43 is deliberately under powered to not challenge the more expensive rwd car. Most performance cars using the 3.0 v6 turbo run over 440bhp so I consider myself as having unlocked its actual power :D
Still get a chipped c63 with 650 bhp and see who can drive faster in the damp conditions we are used to ;-)

I'm going with advert.

I am sparking a little light hearted banter, whilst also promoting the guys who chipped the car. I researched and they were listed on this forum as being good with experience on the C43. I received a good service and wanted to share that.
I know 63 amg owners look down on the c43 so thought I'd poke the ants nest :p.

I don't look down on the c43 at all, as I said, great car. Sound good, look good, go well, but a totally different animal to a c63. I wouldn't have a c43 personally, would have rather had a lightly used c63 for the same money, but that's just me. Not cos I look down on them, just cos you can't beat that v8 burble!

I can't decide whether the OP is a wind-up or an advert for the tuning firm.

It reminded me of that old TV sketch..(a magician's trick I think it was)

"now young man - you're nothing to do with me are you - we've never met before have we?"

"No Dad"

:D

Assume your MB warranty is now invalid and also what's your experience with the ongoing Crabbing characteristic that some owners are experiencing?

The map has been developed so that it is undetectable my mercedes, but they will switch it off prior to any warranty work that involves them .

Crabbing is a small issue when tyres are cold on full lock but the turning circle is so good you dont need to full lock it so it doesnt bother me. I understand a tyre upgrade fixes this tho.

Any remap is detectable if one looks hard enough....

I'm sure it is but just repeating what I was told and they have given me 2 years warranty/after care so have no reason to doubt them.

I was already in there dropping my car off and wasnt querying the map they just volunteered the information so they must be pretty sure of it. :thumb:

The AWD C43 is only better than the C63 for two reasons:

1) You're a woman.

B) You're not skilled enough to handle a RWD.
I'm very upset with your comments.

So its not been declared for your insurance then.....! They're getting much better now at running diagnostics on cars involved in insurance claims to spot for maps and I doubt any map is truly undetectable.

Any map is detectable. Don't be so gullible to believe DMS saying that is undetectable.

Plus being a new member with 7 post so far and you start a thread comparing the C43 with the M156 V8s? Really? Either you do not have anything interesting to do, oe you are now bored with your mapped C43?

DMS is a good reputable company. There are also not so good reviews if you look hard enough.
Plus dyno numbers is just numbers. Get it on a proper long stretch of private road and thrash it out. Then you can prove the numbers.

I have the C63 W204 and i am happy with mine. I don't go comparing it with the newer C43... partly because I am happy with mine and aint constantly wanting better. My M156 V8 is the best for me now!

Now where did i keep my popcorns?

Actually doesn't your C43 have the same remote diagnostics and data exchange with Mercedes-AMG as my GLC43 has?

Sorry but when there is warranty at stake for tens of thousands of pounds it will be incredibly easy for an IT forensic specialist to demonstrate the ECU has been tampered with and altered, even when reflashed to stock. That is honestly not difficult to do at all.

No skin of my back, and I've tuned new cars in the past as well. But was fully open that I would take that risk, and ensure to declare it on the insurance. Further more whilst 4x4 can provide grip where others can't, its intent was never to do that in those extreme conditions. Like where I live on the Chilterns I normally carry a towing strap in the boot and most of the vehicle that I get out of the ditch are 4x4 drivers whose first remark is that it is a 4x4 ;)

In my experience those with RWD only especially 55/63/65 owners know what they've got and will adapt to the road conditions appropriately, and drive past shaking their head.

Just some friendly advice from a fellow 43 owner, stay safe out there, not just for yourself but also for others that may be using those roads.

Great car no doubt, but it doesn't follow the one man one engine philosophy.

Also, the sound of the C63 is incredible and with that 6.2 on the W204...

I declared all the mods on my B7 RS4 and was paid in full without issue when it was no more. It hardly added anything to my premium either but that was in 2011.

Mods were - remap - manifold polished and ported - cold air feed fitted - pre-cats removed - top speed limiter removed. Also upgraded breaks & clutch.

Can't remember exactly how much extra I paid but I'm sure it was sub- £150.00.

I'll see if I still have any paper work for the exact figures.

Cheers

Mine was through A-Plan and was only £11.70 extra per year with similar like yours except for speed limiter and clutch.

Now where did i keep my popcorns?

Well, am I only permitted to start a thread comparing 2 awesome cars when I have more than 7 posts? how many should I have first?
TBH honest your comment is designed to be hurtful and derogatory but isnt constructed with any actual sense. Lets assume that I do have something interesting to do, that means I must be bored with my car? please elaborate on how that is the only possibilty. Why wouldnt I, for instance, be trying to get to know the forum and its members? - weed out the less intelligent posters and trolls from the funny posters without having to read through a whole lot of posts? Most people are open to peoples opinion and can make fun without seeming as tho they are genuinely annoyed that they had to read AND respond to a post.....who really has nothing interesting to do?
if I'm honest I find cars interesting, learning about cars interests me, learning from other people interests me, learning about different states of tune and tuning possibilities interests me and there isnt a great deal of information on tuning a C43 available to me so here I am. Plus if anybody has actual reasons why a C63 is better I am interested to find out why. This may not be interesting to you but then I would question why you are here.
But this is good I am finding out who is who.......I gotta say I am offended by your lazy response :-(

How about map a C63. Its 500bhp stock in S form im sure 550-600bhp will be easily achievable.
