It's not a race out there boys, it's all about the experience. If you get your kicks with more grip than power and that feeling of awesome acceleration regardless of the time, place or conditions, then fine, fill your boots. I certainly used to, with a history of pretty well tweaked Audis (RS6's, S4 etc), but it all became a little bit meh....
... which is why I get the most awesome fun now out of a Morgan 3-wheeler, which has oodles more torque than grip and needs huge self control and consideration when tackling a slimy back road with some spirit, or trying to tool away from a set of traffic lights in the wet. And no electronics apart from those that make the spark plugs go BANG. At least it will never have any problems with ABS, TC, ESP, Power Steering, Dynamic Suspension, DCT blah blah blah..... Slow? Yes, probably, but fun? More than you can imagine
OK, so we also have an R172 SLK55 (with PP) for when the cold and wet has become really annoying, but overall I've gone a bit
less-is-more over the past few years I guess. Each to their own of course.
So there's no argument as far as I am concerned as to one being better than the other - they're just different. So enjoy your cars folks, whatever they say on the back and if you can turn around for that last look after parking it somewhere, as you walk away, and still get that fizz, then who cares what it is eh ?!
