Mass air flow location

Hi, I own a M reg w202 c180 sport (MANUAL) and i need to possibly clean/replace the maf unit due to shoddy idle But i cannot find it. I thought it should be between the air filter and the throttle body but there is only a two wire sensor?(what is this?) can anyone supply the location of the maf please.. or even a part number

i am in uk and the car is right hand drive uk model

I suspect you don't have a MAF (early C180s didn't) - is the two wire sensor close the to the throttle body? That would that would be the air temp sensor.

Wifes old bmw 96 model, crap idle and hesitation when pulling away, remove inlet trunking get a can of card cleaner and a toothbrush, engine off hold flap open and give it all a good scrub, works wonders and has done the trick on a few other cars of hers as well.

Ps you cant use the toothbrush again
